There are a lot of things going on in Wisconsin and the RL4WDA is helping pave the way for more trail access. This group is set up to inform our members and community about important issues we're dealing with on a statewide level. Many of these things will require your voice, your vote and together, we can keep expanding riding trails in this great state!

Please share and invite your friends to this group to stay up to date on things we're doing.

We've been working on the trail signing program and it's going to follow the current WI DNR handbook for trail signs but we'll be adding the levels, intersection signs will be getting the GPS coordinates and then we'll be proposing the signs for odd and even day one way signs and the things we've fine tuned the last few years.

Originally I wanted to explore powder coat as it lasts the longest but the system is labor intensive and too costly. Instead we'll be going with a hybrid aluminum for long lasting durability and cost savings and then a DOT 4 reflective honeycomb for amazing brightness (and lower cost). We've been waiting for the trail grants to come in before we finish the work and post everything on the website, but this year, we'll have a concept sign system we'll be pitching to legislators as part of our trail program and while that's all find and dandy, the real benefit are that Trail Guides and users will finally have good signs to go with our maps and online directory. I got word today that the funds should be here in a few more weeks now (it's been a long process).

While WOHVA or WI4X4 are not members of RL4WD, we want our members to be aware that these two groups are looking to combine to one state association. We encourage folks to join them and attend if you can.

WOHVA helped us get started and by all of us working together, we can get more trails. While there is some bad blood from some in our recreation, we must look past all that stuff and work together so we can build a bright trail outlook for Wisconsin and the Midwest.

RL4WD is here to aid clubs, Trail Guide Ambassadors, chapters, and associations in fostering this positive growth. RL4WD is being developed to be used across the nation and beyond so it's my hope that we can somehow help these folks if they need it.

Again, these associations are not part of us, but many of their members also helped us start. I look forward to building a better relationship with those who answer the call in whatever this merger ends up being. Things are getting better every day for WI, a real trail network, parks and such are very much in sight!!

I will not be at this annual meeting as I'm helping that same weekend at the WATVA annual meeting over on the ATV and UTV side. -  https://watva.org/index.php/about/annual-meeting-2019
