I'm having trouble with some of the social elements after last weekend's attempt at a remote edit (without enough service). Working on fixing it today.

Trail levels were cleaned up today level and what that level is was added to the search so there is less digging.

After much review - going to take out bypasses. Bypasses from the directory criteria as it may lead people off the trail which may not be legal. If a legal bypass is in the trail, it will be written in the description by the mapping folks and reviewers. We don't want to show a level 7 trails with a level 3 bypass and then someone misses the bypass and takes the lvl 7 trail anyway. Anything that can be confusing is going to be taken out.

It appears that there is a bug here where if normal users do not have event creation permission, they are not able to view page events.

A fix has been applied. Please report if you're having troubles with events.

As we continue to make site improvements I went ahead and disabled many of the emails that were being sent for things like "likes" and such. This should reduce emails that really don't need to be sent, you'll still see it in your notifications, but things that warrant emails are moreso for things that request you to respond in some fashion.

If you have suggestions on emails you don't think should be on by default, let me know. Otherwise, you should enjoy a bit less email clutter coming from the site.

We've identified the error with the donation screen graying out. Still working on this.

Still waiting on the review writing conflict and the donation program not working together. One of the program is using an older text editor and it conflicts with the reviews editor. If it's not fixed soon, we'll have to use a different donate option.

I'm having issues with photos not showing up in the timeline on PC but they show up on phone. Working on this throughout the day, hopefully we can have all these things fixed before the weekend.

You will no longer get notifications when people are not attending an event or function. Nobody cares if you can't go to something ;)

You will no longer be notified when someone joins a group. Those emails and pop-ups are too frequent and annoying.

If you’re inquiring about a media kit, you can also email those requests to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Thank you for your interest in working with us!

Extension Six - Thank you for calling Road Legal For Wheel Drive government and land management division. Together, we can help meet the needs of your constituents and the general public in a sustainable and ethical way. All our representatives are busy assisting others or we’re away on assignment out in the field. There's some adlib in there but that's mostly what it says now.

Today we'll be updating our community. Here are the changes taking effect after the full site backup.

OpenStreetMap Integration - Google Maps is a paid mapping solution, OpenStreetMap is free so we'll use that as the base map.

Disable the IDs in the SEF URLs entirely. So events and pages will no longer have those odd numbers at the end of them when you share something.

Improved Users Listing - The all new and improved filters on the user listing page has branched out for My Friends and My Followers as well. This allows users to quickly search for their friends and followers but minus the hassle.

Adding advertisement options. This is being done so we can offer a free profile on the site, those folks will see more ads. We're not going with the lame google ads that mostly google keeps, we're adding a nice layout for folks like chambers and businesses to create ads relevant to trails, and 4x4 businesses. These funds help up build trails, add funds to the grant fund, and get equipment. This runs very much like Adsense or Facebook ads in that folks can pick between per impressions or clicks and it can be narrowed down for a specific region so a Jeep dealer ad in Green Bay won't show up for members in Superior, etc.

Improved Notifications - The notifications are able to show user reactions for every stream item. With this, it provides users with a much clearer view of these notifications.

Photos & Albums Tagging improvements.

User Poll Statistics - Poll statistics will now be visible in the about user page. It will also display all the created polls and votes received of the user as well. This makes it easier to keep track fo polls you created.

Task Management for Groups & Events - Event and group owners can now assign and modify tasks to their members in its respective milestones. Moreover, all tasks are also sorted to their due dates.

AcyMailing 6 Integration

Improved Privacy - User privacy should never be taken lightly. The team has made efforts to improve privacy in this version. It involves denormalizing the access of each media item in Photos, Albums, Audio and Videos to have its own access columns. In other words, a lightweight privacy processing that's more robust for each listing. So say you want to share only some photos publicly in an album, this is going to be easier to do now.

Any questions let me know.

Directory upgrades that happened today. You'll notice the listings respond faster and some changes to the buttons but most of this is updates on the backside as we prep to have a trails app for smartphones.

Fixes:
Prevent Auto-tweet errors when using localhost for testing (bit.ly, media upload).
When editing a listing with multiple related listing fields, only the first one loads the previously selected values.
Unpublished listings appear in related listing custom field output.
OwnerReply moderation events are not triggered when approving a reply.
Response service success method not setting 200 status code.
Template not found error in emails triggered to listing owner and reviewer for new review and owner reply submissions.
AMP pages not loading on some sites where related listings widgets are setup using the “about” mode, and a value was not selected for the related listing custom field.
‘Twitch’ video linking checkbox setting missing in Listing Type overrides.
Admin search allows clicking on override setting link without first selecting a listing type.
Prevent Add-on theme names from appearing in list of available themes in the configuration.
Prevent settings from disabled Add-ons from appearing in the admin dashboard settings search results.
Using a non-active/non-existing listing type ID in click2search URL results in DB error.
Session cache setting value not read correctly when setting global state variable.
Pages description uses the home page description when a segment is appended to the URL

Changes:
Replaced clear cache/registry alert dialog with a toast message.
Replaced loading indicator image.
Core refactoring for future functionality.
Added ‘ListingInquiryWasDeleted’ system event.
Added BaseRepository::many method that can be used by default by new repository classes.
Added Category.access column to listings query.
Automatically reset value of checkbox configuration settings when all options are unchecked.
Updated jQuery UI to the latest stable version v1.12.1.
No longer loading core jQuery UI CSS file and sprite because directory now overrides implements its own styles for all widgets.

New features:
UI refactoring of admin dashboard.
UI refactoring of form inputs, buttons, dialogs, status labels and much more!
Card, Postcard and Poster listing list layouts and a new Layout Customizer system to simplify the creation of variations of these layouts and use them throughout the site.

As you may have seen, we're working on making out site more phone and tablet friendly. Work has already begun to try and move some elements of our site from one program to another so that sometime soon, we can have our own App for Android and Apple.

As many of you have voiced before, the site is too slow, too bulky and too confusing. We're going to narrow the focus down to find trails, join events, and education. While the site will still function much like it does now, the profiles are going to be more basic, some of the social media type stuff like the timeline will no longer exist (again, many complaints are due to the timeline and not being able to find things).

I do our best to post on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter weekly already so if those are your jam, join us on those platforms.
This effort will also vastly reduce expense, maintenance time (because I have to keep all parts of the site up to date darn near daily), and we'll let social media ne social media and our site be how and where to ride and when.

The site will still have blogs and media, but it'll be nested a little differently. You'll still be able to purchase event tickets and swag, but again... it'll look differently as we condense our efforts, if something doesn't fit, we won't include it.

The new site will still keep track of memberships, but that'll be a bit different too.

I appreciate all the thoughtful comments, concerns and folks wanting to help out. I really like that members express their joys and frustrations with the site at events and on here. While you think you sound like a Debby downer, that insight is so so valuable to those of us tasked with moving RL4WD forward. It's been hard keeping a thick skin on some of this as some of you know, but without the hard truths, we'd never change. This site and our system has been an enormous undertaking, but we're getting there!

today's community update introduces an automate purge progressing for the caching mechanism of SEF urls. This was carefully thought through for the convenience of whoever made any changes to the SEF urls. Not to mention, this update also includes other improvements, refinements, and bug fixes as well.

Down below are just some of the bug fixes addressed in this update:

Site admins have the option to create overrides for reaction icons in the site template

User's birthday displayed at the sidebar will now follow similarly to the birthday field (This is locked down so only the member sees the info by default).

Addressed a possible issue with the PHP memory limit due to SEF caching

Addressed a possible issue with the SEF urls for albums, audio, videos when the url shortener plugin is enabled

The location detection works properly for OpenStreetMap in lockdown mode

The total hits and photo uploads stat will now show in the albums listing page

Events sorted by the closest dates will now appear correctly

Submitting reviews for moderation will now appear properly

Editing and viewing a single photo no longer renders the popup version of the it

Added a home menu bar to the top of every page when logged in. It could also go on the bottom but looks pretty good on the top of the page. This should aid in basic profile and site navigation. This bar will stay on with you everywhere so you're never without the community menu on the site.

Major updates to the blog today. Adding menu categories for authors who want to write blogs going forward. Blogs are great for sharing your experiences and they are much more powerful than forums. Authors are allowed to insert AdSense info for their blogs.
