Overlanding Tours are longer versions of the Overlanding routes we have on rl4wd.com. While routes can usually be completed in a day or weekend, a tour is usually much longer and may take weeks or months to fully complete. Tours are designed to stay off the pavement as much as possible, and most tours will refrain from high-speed interstate travel.
RL4WD and our mapping volunteers are committed to designing fun and interesting Overlanding experiences like these tours. They take many hours of planning to design, running them to confirm the tracks and add in the waypoints. Tours are filled with historical locations, interesting landmarks, breathtaking overlooks, and places to eat, fuel up, sleep, and recreate.
Our tour trip data uses the Universal Trail Rating System, so our map files are filled with important trail class info designed to help you find your preferred experience.
Major tours have their own web pages where you'll find a main page about the trip and then a directory listing, map files, forums, related groups, and related social media designed to provide news and updates. You can also ask questions in the pages below each tour, write blogs about your adventure, share videos and images, and review each section of the tour to help others decide if they want to partake as well. The community and forum areas are designed so RL4WD members can plan trips together.
