This event is being combined with the May training as the trails have now begun to thaw and we should not be on them. Please RSVP to the May 15th weekend. It will be a great time.

RSVP at https://rl4wd.com/shop/March-2021-Camp-Sinawa-Trail-Ambassador-Field-Day-p244676045 you will get an email in a few hours/days with instructions on how to begin your online class.

March Camp Sinawa Trail Ambassador Field Day for Division 1, 2, and 3. An online course must be done prior to this event. When you pay for the class, you'll get instructions on how to complete the online study guide.

Volunteering as a Trail Ambassador helps us keep and expand 4x4 trails and riding opportunities. This Trail Ambassador class involves a morning classroom session and afternoon hands-on skills session. Trail Ambassadors are needed to report trail conditions, help people out on the trails, and to host small rides at our private and public trail areas.

Saturday meeting in the parking lot most likely to practice skill sets and practice what you've learned in the class. If the trails at Caom Sinawa are too wet to ride on, we'll be practicing what we've learned in the parking lot and them going on the local overlanding tour

Sunday, additional training, and riding are possible for those who stay at the camp.

Please RSVP your cabin, RV, or tent space with Ranger Sarah 920-827-6811 if you would like a heated cabin or RV/Tent space.

Ticket fees are for the background check, Trail Ambassador integration, membership card reprint with TGA info, TGA vests, and future RL4WD discounted memberships. You’ll get a 2-year extension on your RL4WD membership ($100+ dollar value). Our aim is to give you more value than the cost of the class.

For the background checks, we look for things like recent violent crimes, sexual misconduct, OWI’s/DWI’s etc. We understand people have a past and that things done in your youth don’t represent who you are now many years later. If you want to talk about something in your background check, please feel free to contact Ryan Harden before paying for this event.

This class certifies you as a Division 2 RL4WD Trail Ambassador through our https://trailambassador.com/ program here at the office. We are a recognized group within the WI DNR, DOT, Tourism, along with many other local, state, and federal agencies.

Cost: $100 per person (new vests now go up to 5XL and have 3 colors)

Items you need:

Your Rig in good working order according to: https://rl4wd.com/event/rigchecklist

Fire Extinguisher

First Aid Kit

Front and Rear Recovery Points

GMRS Family Talk Radio / Ham Radio (2m) (HAM is best, GMRS 2nd best) I may not even have a CB for this class.

The training for next weekend has been canceled due to the trails now starting to thaw. We have another training on May 15th same time and place. With the annual meeting presentations I have to do, there won't be time to toss in another training before May.

It's crucial that we stay off the crawling trails during the thaw to prevent thousands of dollars worth of damage. This goes for Overlanding routes too, if you're on gravel and dirt roads that turn to mud or sloppy messes, there's a very good probability that road or trail will be closed. It takes time, staff, and material to bring out the graders and some counties, etc. simply close the roads if they are abused during the thaw. This is a major problem in the 4X4 community in Wisconsin as temps climb and people are itching to get out and trail ride. Please try and do more social events, road runs, etc. for the next few weeks while the trails thaw and dry out. Together, we can keep trails and roads from closing, but it takes all of us to protect those trails we love.

I'm sure I'll continue to be hated for saying stuff like this, but it's the God honest truth... piss off land managers and county administrators... burn those bridges and your hopes for adding new crawling trails go right out the window.

So we only have one person paid and signed up for the class next weekend... so do we wait until the trails are more dried out to do this next month? I have something on the list for every month... it's just not as much fun with only 2 people haha.
