Join us for a Winter Trail Ride at the Homestead in Allenton, WI followed by a Jeep 'n Eat at Jug's Hitching Post on Sunday, Jan 27th, 2019. The corn is FINALLY off the field so come test out your Jeep snowshoes and enjoy our wooded trails, a few log crawls and our rock crawl area! We might even see some wildlife enjoying the trails and refuge area.

A $20 on-site donation per Jeep would be appreciated to help offset the cost of trail maintenance. Due to the venue size, we are limiting the attendance to approximately 20 Jeeps. Your attendance will be confirmed by a private Facebook message (Facebook event https://www.facebook.com/events/1653355631433326/) from The Homestead.

Wrangler Riders is providing the insurance for this event; therefore, you must be a paid member of Wrangler Riders / RL4WD to attend. Please remember to bring your membership cards!

Event Timeline:

12:00 (High Noon!) - 12:30
Registration & Vehicle Safety Checks / Air Down

12:30 - 1:00 Drivers Meeting & Questions

1:00 - 4:00 Trail Time Baby!

4:00 - 5:00 Air Up

5:00 - Jeep 'n Eat to Jug's Hitching Post for some great food, beverages, and socialization! Everyone pays their own way.

Not sure how many winter events we will have here so we look forward to seeing everyone! - Connie & Regan

We are blessed to be getting 6-10 inches of snow today and tomorrow leading up to this weekend’s event. It will sure add some excitement to things! Snow riding is always fun and expect to get stuck here and there – it’s all part of the experience!

We will snap some photos of the property after the upcoming snow fall and post via our Facebook Page for those who are curious. It will be cold so dress appropriately; you can always take a layer off if too warm. We have a heated 3 car garage as a staging area before the ride for all to mingle and complete the registration process. You might even find some hot cocoa available to keep you warm!

Due to the overwhelming interest we added Saturday (Jan 26th, 2019) to the lineup for more folks to attend. As it stands right now we still have approx 3 openings on both Saturday & Sunday so there is still time to sign up for either day if interested. To officially sign up please email us: the1869homestead@gmail.com

Please plan on arriving at noon. Our goal is to get everyone paid ($20 per vehicle), registered, thru the safety checklist and drivers meeting for a 1pm start to the trail riding. As this is an official Wrangler Riders/RL4WD event, their waivers and checklists will be used. To save time at registration:
    1. Go to  https://www.wranglerriders.com/trails/waiver
    2. Print the waiver(s) & RL4WD Safety Checklis
    3. Fill out and bring the completed forms with you to the event.

** Note: Blank forms will be available on site as well; however, to breeze through the process please have your forms filled out & bring them along

As the hosts, safety is our #1 priority. We have included our safety checklist (the one we use at The Homestead) on our general events to help you make sure you are prepared.

Dick Schmidt will have available approved fire extinguishers on site for purchase if you do not have one yet. These are Refillable Type ABC: Cost $40 ea. payable to Dick Schmidt. We will also have various other items for sale such as Jeep Lanyards, Jeep Key Chains, Para-cord grab handles, Jeep Headbands/Face Masks, The Homestead Decals, etc.

We will have an air compressor on site if anyone wishes to air down. Hard to say if that will help or hurt your traction in a foot of snow. Big Sky does not plan on airing down, thinking maybe higher ground clearance and more weight on a narrower tire may be the way to go but who knows!

At around 4-4:30pm we will start to get ready for the Jeep to Eat after party! We hope to caravan to the restaurant for a 5pm - 5:30pm arrival.

If there are any questions leading up to the event don’t hesitate to reach out! We look forward to seeing everyone soon!
