The Winter/Spring GeoCrawl event is ON! This poker run style event goes through April 30th, 2019. It applies to all public and private trails, waypoints and businesses listed on https://rl4wd.com/directory.
Rules - You must send in a review with a picture showing your rig out on the trail or listing between December of 2018 and April 30th, 2019. If you don't load a picture or video with your review, it will not count.
Go to a listing, write an honest review of the listing and then submit an image. It's that simple!
Private Trails - Some trails are private and not open daily for RL4WDs. You must come to an event to review these trails in order to qualify. DO NOT TRESPASS!!!
Win loads of prizes from our sponsors (still coming in). Below, we'll list every product you can win along with a video of the said product. If you are a winner, you'll be given a code to pick the prizes you want when they are listed in our marketplace (for free using a coupon). This way, you get a prize you want or need!
So far, Warn and Rough Country and AV Dynamics have given prizes that range from $50 off a remote starter to LED lights and grab handles. We're very fortunate to have such great companies backing our mission to ride and build trails!!!
These reviews are a crucial element to keeping our directory live, fresh and real. Real drivers riding these trails give feedback on everything from trail conditions to maintenance issues we can help address. These reviews are the best trail reports because they come from real people who ride!
Please "buy" the free ticket in this event so we can keep track of who's entered in this event. If you only see the public $50 ticket, that means you're not logged in. This event is free for all members, the $50 public fee is for the yearly membership.
Please follow the trail rules here - https://rl4wd.com/trails/rules
The Directory uses the trail rating system here - https://rl4wd.com/TrailRatingSystem
Please use trail communication https://rl4wd.com/trails/comms/trail and always try and go out in groups!
If you have any questions, please feel free to post in the timeline of this event!
Prize Reviews - (coming soon)
The event has moved to the Saturday before Easter from the March date due to the warmup and thaw. Join us for a fun day of riding the Wisconsin River trails and gravel roads, followed by a nice dinner. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the river, the blooming Spring forest flowers, and the camaraderie of your fellow 4x4 family! We'll tour the Badger Ammo plant trails, visit the graveyard there (both GeoCrawls) and share the amazing history. We'll then crawl the 4x4 course at Le Voy's Nut and Bolt Shop and after that Then, we'll ride down the river trails that progressively turn from gravel roads to real trails.
This trail tour is mostly stock 4x4 friendly but the end trails may not be suitable for highway tires. Depending on the river level, we may be able to crawl some spots but they are optional for pictures and such. The end trails turn to more sand and dirt and we may cross 3 streams that have prepared bottoms. If you don't feel comfortable doing these crossings, there is a place to park your rig to jump in with others or to wait until that section of trail is finished. If the trails are very muddy, we will not risk tearing up the trails. Our goal is to build more trails and that can't happen if we wreck what's already there.
This tour should take about 3-4 hours depending on how often we stop. If the group is too big, we may split into a few smaller groups on some trails so there is less waiting.
We are allowed to have 5 rigs per Trail Guide Ambassador As more TGA's come with, we'll set that number higher.
This event is free for all RL4WDA members. Please bring your valid membership card along and we'll have the waivers and sign in forms on site. Safe time and check your rig with the waivers here - https://rl4wd.com/trails/waiver note that kids need a legal guardian to sign the waiver so if you have kids and are bringing their friends, your signature will not work for them.
Fire extinguisher and recovery gear is required. You need to have tow points on the front and rear along with d rings and such. It's not likely that we will be airing down or doing a lot of crawling on rocks.
We will use CB's for this ride so have one if you are coming. We'll start on channel 12.
We will likely stop for lunch along the way but bring water, snacks and such. Some of these trails will be gated, some will not, it just depends on the weather and trail conditions. Some trails are 20+ minutes away from one another where we'll be on roads so if your rig isn't really roadworthy, you may want to sit this one out.
We'll fuel up at Bluffview CITGO before we go so meet there. Post any questions you may have below and our Trail Guide Ambassadors or members will be there to help out. Thank you all for supporting our mission to build and ride more trails! Together, we can advocate for proper trail use to foster relationships to build more crawling trails we all enjoy.
As part of our mission to serve our community and our vets, we're going to get as many rigs down to one of our members' place to support the foundation working tirelessly to house and feed our homeless vets in Wisconsin. With an estimated 7,000 vets homeless in Wisconsin, this foundation has been working hard to help support those vets who need it most.
We'll meet at Sluggos at 12:30pm to try and get there early to keep all the rigs together. Sign the event form for a special profile badge and 5 event points!
We've worked with this foundation before during our Jeepers Hurricane Harvey run read about that here https://rl4wd.com/content/blog/entry/wranglershelpinghouston. We'll also be working with them for our December 13th Charity ride.
If you can't RSVP to this event, check that you've first liked our page https://rl4wd.com/trailguideambassadors/144-rockledgerec, then you should be able to.

May 18th is the international Go Topless day for Jeeps! We're kicking off this shindig by hosting the largest event in Southeastern Wisconsin. We'll be opening member trails at The 1869 Homestead and Camp Sinawa for paid members and we'll have Trail Guide Ambassadors taking out non-member and members on the public trails across Southeast and South Central Wisconsin.
Raise Funds - This fundraiser's goal is to reach $500 and then extremeterrain.com will match it! Trail Guide Ambassadors will be taking donations at each location before each trail ride. Funds are used to further non-profit trail development in 2019. DNR has indicated that if we can find test sites for High-Clearance trails, we'll need to self-fund those public trail efforts. So far, we've raised $400 in this segregated account. If it has to go to a charity over our non-profit club account, it'll go to the Earl Vits Memorial Trust Charity (the Camp Sinawa Recreational Education Camp Non-Profit).
Garbage Cleanup Competition - Bring your trash bags and help us clean up the trails! The rig or team that takes the best images of garbage being picked up will win a prize from our sponsors and plaque and online badge from RL4WD. Submit photos in this event timeline or in the facebook event.
Entertainment - Camp Sinawa will have the SCA historical society on site this weekend. Our Trail Guides will coordinate with SCA officials to give us an exclusive tour of the grounds where you'll experience medieval crafts, art, real armor battles, blacksmithing and more!

Tickets at - Join us for a fun-filled weekend of riding the trails of Camp Sinawa! We'll begin with a night ride Friday night (optional) then some socializing in the lodge or around the fire. Saturday we ride all day with gates opening at 10am. Sunday we finish the riding in the morning and then we pack and clean the camp and vehicles. Details coming soon.
The VIP Ride is designed to show local officials, tourism, DNR and legislators about RL4WDs, slow speed trails and how to set up parks like Camp Sinawa. For this ride we'll be taking VIPs around the trails, explaining how we operate and what we plan on doing in the future. Together, we can create a positive future for RL4WD in Wisconsin. We'll need as many Jeeps and such as possible to take people around. We'll have information about the ride and the camp set up in the lodge. Keep in mind, this is a Friday and it starts early. We need Jeeps to showcase, this is a very important event as we begin to talk about a real public RL4WD program for Wisconsin. We'll try to provide lunch for the VIPs, Trail Guide Ambassadors, and crew.At lunch, we'll be providing an award to the camp, recognition to any officials within the government who've worked for us and have some floor time for tourism and politicians to talk. The idea here is we'll begin an open dialog on getting programs like ours, but public and open in other areas of the state. Together, we can keep building RL4WD slow speed trails in Wisconsin! The details are still forming, but we'll need as many vehicles as we can to be sure we have enough room to take VIPs and their staff around the trails. We'll set up an FM broadcast so all our radios can be explaining our program as they ride the trails. This way, drivers do not need to know much besides their personal experiences to add. We'll also see if we can get some demo units from the manufacturers and dealers to promote this very important event. It's crucial that the VIPs are able to drive some vehicles if they need to.
A free ride weekend to help brush trails, build rock crawls, and finish signing.
Camping and cabins will be available.
There is a LOT going on over the 4th of July! Join us for the parade and then we'll hit the trails of the Kettles / Sinawa for a wonderful day of fun that'll finish up with Fireworks on the lakefront!
You'll want to stay over in the Sheboygan area! http://visitsheboygan.com/4thofjuly/ Lots to do on this extended weekend.
We'll meet at our office to remove tops and doors and get the rigs ready to run at 7am and then we'll have to be lined up by 8am.
More info coming soon!
