RL4WD members and friends will be decorating rig starting at 2pm at Tidy Car which can fit about 5-10 rigs inside (warm!). We'll have snacks and music playing while we get the rig ready! You can leave trucks and trailers in the parking lot as well.
We'll head down to line up around 4pm.
The Sheboygan Jaycees Present the Lake 98.1 Holiday Parade! You are invited to participate in the 26th Annual Holiday Parade that will take place in downtown Sheboygan on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at 5:00 pm.
Promote your organization or business and show your holiday spirit by participating in the Holiday Parade! You can enter a decorated float, have your employees wear holiday costumes and distribute candy, or come up with your own creative entry. Only entries decorated in the holiday spirit will be allowed in the parade.
This year’s theme is "A Christmas Story"... think of this classic Christmas movie that brings laughter and joy to the holiday season and be creative with your entry! Because the parade is after dark, we require lights on all entries, so please work them into your design. Also, so as not to confuse the children, Santa Claus is not allowed on any float or entry except the Jaycees official Santa float at the end of the parade.
We will be awarding prizes to the top three non-profit entries (1st place is $150, 2nd place is $100, and 3rd place is $50) and the top three corporate entries (each receives a plaque). The winners will be announced at the tree lighting ceremony at the Mead Public Library following the parade. Please plan to have a representative from your organization present in case you win!
Start at Center Avenue and 7th Street, go north on 7th Street to Erie Avenue, go west on Erie Avenue to 8th Street, go south on 8th Street and end at Mead Public Library.
Letters for Santa
The U.S. Postal Service will be walking in the parade to collect and deliver your letters to Santa. Be sure to include your name and address on the letter so Santa can give you a response.

This takes place at Mead Public Library immediately following the parade.

History of the Holiday Parade
The Holiday Parade began in 1992 with the Sheboygan Jaycees organizing the parade and Younkers as the sole sponsor. This was a natural fit for Younkers, as they were already considered the “Christmas Store” and their store was in the middle of the parade route.
In 2004, the Sheboygan Press was added as a sponsor to help save the Holiday Parade due to an increase in costs and decrease in sponsorship dollars. The Sheboygan Jaycees felt that the parade would be a perfect tie-in with the Sheboygan Press because it aligns them with a positive community event attended by thousands in its service area. In 2006, the Harbor Centre Business Improvement District was added as a sponsor for the same reasons.
In 2007, due to a loss of cash sponsorship, the Sheboygan Jaycees self-funded most of the parade out of its own budget. Even though there was some expense involved to continue the parade, the Jaycees overwhelmingly supported continuing the parade as a holiday tradition for the city of Sheboygan.
This incredible growth in the size of the parade is solely due to the demand of the community. Excluding weather conditions, this parade has seen a year over year growth in community participation and we see no signs of this trend slowing. It is the only winter parade in the City of Sheboygan.
The Holiday Parade over its history has turned into a family and community tradition. It signifies the beginning of the holiday season in Sheboygan County!

Rick Falbab, a member of Wrangler Riders and WOHVA does an annual night ride through the Evergreen Park making spirits bright Christmas display once a year. We all bust out the rigs and decorate/light them up to help support the local Rotary club raise money and food for local food banks.
This year, we're meeting at Holidays in Sheboygan (surprise surprise lol) around 4pm to set up. It's best to have most of your decorating done at home and just put stuff out on the rigs as we meet in the parking lot. Due to the size of our group, we will likely be gathering in the lot behind holidays which is Emil Mazey Hall so we can all park together.
We'll be leaving the parking lot around 4:45pm and head northbound on County Y, then down to Mueller Road where we turn Eastbound. Then we turn Southbound on HWY 42 where we'll enter Evergreen Park just down the road. You'll want to tune your radio to the channel listed at the entry to listen to the music the lights are all dancing to. In the first parking lot of Evergreen Park, that's where they collect the food and pantry items so have your donations ready (money donations are at the end of the tour).

What is the event?
A drive through holiday lights display choreographed to music. Vehicles of all shapes/sizes can drive the 1.2 mile route. Across the street in Quarryview Center you’ll find entertainment, concessions, Santa, wreath raffle and more.
How much does it cost?
Admission is free, however, pantry item donations are needed to help local pantries. Cash donations support future growth of the Making Spirits Bright event.
After the event, we'll meet back at Holidays for some camaraderie and Christmas cheer. This is usually accompanied by an ugly sweater mission. We might have prizes even... so do your best haha.

Obay traffic laws. Use your discretion of having Christmas lights on during roadway operation. While we're making sure to communicate with local law enforcement about this ride, we may not be able to get a parade permit or permission to run lights on the roadway. More details about this will be available during the event.
Please try and stay together as best you can. This is a pretty busy event and the roads can be tough to keep everyone together. This event started with 5 rigs and is now 40+ rigs and growing. Again, obey traffic laws and don't get a ticket.
After the event, we'll be enjoying a social hour together. Your actions speak for the whole group so this isn't an excuse to get plowed and give us a bad image. Be responsible and safe!
Making Spirits Bright has collected over 200,000 lbs. of pantry items for the Sheboygan County food pantries since 2012.

2019 changes -
You must pre-register online or call in. There will be no on site registration. This is so we can assign the proper amount of trail guides per group.
If you can't show up on-time, don't show up. People who come an hour late hold up the entire group or rush the safety check. This won't be allowed anymore for safety reasons. We understand life happens and will do what we can to refund or move your payment to the next event but it's not fair for the folks coming on time to wait.
You must have your valid membership badge on you. We'll now be checking to make sure your membership isn't expired and will be using the badges for sign in.
Bring your event ticket. Print it or have it in the email on your smart phone. It'll have a QR code we can sign to check you in.
You must have a CB. We're on channel 12. Communication is super important!
You must have a fire extinguisher. Contact Dick Schmidt (https://rl4wd.com/members/215-dschmidt) if you don't have one so he can order you one.
Must have your current valid insurance card or you can't ride.

Friday Night - Check in at 7pm. Michele, Tina and Ryan will be in the lodge to check you in.
8pm - Night Ride (Experienced drivers only). If you've never been here or haven't ever done trail riding, this may not be the best time to start. If we have enough guides, we'll break into a intro group and a group that's been here before.
Friday night, drinks, music, fire, bags all in the lodge. BYOB and no driving once you've consumed.
Everyone must sign in / sign the waiver before being allowed to ride the trails. We go out in groups, never alone. Do not attempt to open the trail gates without an Elder.
The vehicle must have at least one Wrangler Rider member in it whenever out on the trails. You can switch drivers.
Be a decent human being. Treat each other with respect. Our group is new trail rider friendly. If someone doesn't have the experience of others, teach and share don't poke fun or criticize. Elders are to be respected. Their say is the final word, feel free to ask them about things.
Leave the camp better than you found it.
Always be in 4 low when out on the trails. No exceptions (it prevents trail damage)
No drinking alcohol before a ride. We have a breathalyzer and you must blow zero to drive. Obviously don't be doped up on goofballs either. If you’re on MEDs that say don't operate heavy machines, that includes your vehicle. You’ll be banned from the event and kicked out of Wrangler Riders for breaking this rule.
Police your smoking and butts. Don't smoke right by a doorway so the smoke gets drug into the building. No smoking in any building at the camp.
Watch your language around kids. Our events are family friendly.
CB's are set to channel 12 for almost everything. Add friends to the Beartooth network before the ride.
You can bring the kids and dogs, but you're in charge of crying, barking, poop etc. Have your dog on a leash and keep your kids in sight always (we do have hoops and yard games for the kids).
The camp trails have a different feel to them. During our November workday, we cut and cleared 5 new trails and a few big obstacles to explore. Some of the new trails are designed for experienced drivers, but most can be done with stock Road Legal 4WD Vehicles (RL4WD). Please be sure to check in early enough for the rides as we inspect each vehicle before each ride.
Our night rides are a blast! Riding the trails at night is an entirely different experience. We feel it's important to host night trail rides so everyone has a chance to learn and practice riding without a lot of light.
9 Heated Cabins - You can now pick your cabin based on the picture in the description. Cabins have bunks and foam mats. They do not have bedding. You are expected to bring your own bedding, trash bags, ways to clean your cabin after your stay. Each cabin will be checked after the event. We want you to empty the trash, sweep up the floor and clean up any messes. Cabins that have heat will include a 220V heater that will be turned on hours before your stay. Please turn off the heat when you're done using the cabin and unplug the heater.
Dormitory - The camp features a neat 24-person dormitory complete with its own bathrooms, showers and kitchen. We offer affordable bunk space in the dorm of you don't need an entire cabin. There are 4 bunks to each private area and a little bit of storage. Each side also has an observation deck and a great view of the lake at sunrise. The dorm is older, but everything still works. If you cook in the dorm, please bring things to clean the cooking areas. Also bring trash bags and if you can, donate some paper towels and some single ply (the thin stuff so it doesn't plug the $5k sewage grinder pump) TP. As with the cabins, the dorm only offers a foam mat on the bunks. It won't win any comfort awards, but it isn't too bad.
Shower house - This is the newest building in the camp. It has the best showers and tankless water heaters. It has radiant in-floor heating and exhaust fans that will take the worst smells away in a matter of moments. Everyone staying at the camp can use the shower house. Please don't leave a mess here either. If a garbage is full, grab a bag, if TP is almost out, pop in a new roll. IF you soil the toilet, you'll need to clean it with the cleaning supplies in the restroom. We've never had a problem with people leaving anything dirty and our event fees reflect this. You all have done a great job of cleaning up after.
Lodge and Kitchen - We have use of the big lodge and kitchen for this event. Feel free to move tables and chairs to meet the needs of what's going on. We just need to pick up the tables and chairs and put them back after. The last thing we do is sweep and mop the floors (usually doesn't need mopping unless it's raining out). We'll have coffee, plates, cups and cooking stuff (the camp cooking stuff is terrible best to bring your own but the cups and silverware are good). We have a fireplace in the lodge that we'll have going. Do not operate the fireplace if you don't know what you're doing. Do NOT bring dirty pine firewood into the lodge fireplace. We only use clean hardwoods in the lodge and that pile is over by the sugar shack by the ranger’s house. We'll be playing games, bring cards, the lodge kinda has Wi-Fi but not sure if we remember the password, there is a movie screen, but between cards and playing games and rides, you run out of time to do much else.
Beach - Do not attempt to go on the water in any way during this event. Do not allow your kids to walk out on the ice. In the summer, we can rent a lifeguard and will have swimming hours and boating time, but in Dec... there isn't much to do out there. When the lake is solid, we may take the jeeps out on the ice for some fun, but that'll be Jan or Feb before the ice is thick enough.
Grills - The grills behind the lodge are available to use. They are propane and pretty much suck. We may donate a new grill or two in spring since we're one of the only groups that use them. Ryan almost started the grill shelter on fire the last event because they are so bad.
Many of our events like this will be training us to work as a team when taking our Jeeps out into the wilderness. We'd love to showcase and learn how to work as a team to roll as a squad so we can do multi-day events without any need for much else.

Our 3rd Jeep Badge of Honor Trip is Windrock, TN.
Windrock Park is 73,000 acres of off-road excitement located in Oliver Springs, TN. The trails accommodate all types of vehicles from ATVs, SxS, dirt bikes, mountain bikes, Jeeps/4x4s, buggies and trucks. Windrock Park is the LARGEST privately owned riding area in the country and estimate 3 full days of trail rides.

The event is held downtown Kewaskum and we will once again park our rides along the hillside where other classic vehicles are not able to park. We had great attendance last year and hope to "Fill the Hill!" There is a small entrance fee of $10 as this is car show is a yearly benefit for local families in need. The entrance fee is paid upon arrival.
There were thousands of people in attendance to the show with around 400 vehicles on display. It's a huge event and once in, we get to also enjoy the show, food and activities around us. A combination of classic Jeeps and current models as all were welcome!
We will set up a small canopy for some shade and have a table for some promotional items. Please bring your own chairs.
