Update: The meeting location has changed to the Sheboygan Yacht Club. The address is 214 Pennsylvania Ave, Sheboygan, WI 53081.

There is a brunch buffet if you wish to eat on location (they didn't charge us for the meeting room) and they have drinks and a full-service bar as well. They just ask that no outside food or drinks be brought in (which is understandable).

General January meeting to discuss items in preparation for the annual meeting. As we solidify RL4WDA / RL4WD, we want to discuss what we've done, some things we've tried, give a chance for members to ask questions and get feedback. Listening sessions may include votes on where to concentrate efforts.

Now that the ball is rolling and clubs and Trail Ambassadors are signing up, we want to discuss how this has worked so far and what the members want to in terms of how clubs become part of RL4WDA, what we offer, what is expected of a club, a member, etc.

Possible Formal Bylaws Vote - Now that we have some programs in place and what appears to be our formal membership program, the Bylaws can be drafted, discussed and voted on if it is right to do so.

Possible Formal Board Vote - changing the interim draft board to voted board.

After the general listening session and member meeting, those who have volunteered to help on the board will then meet and narrow down what we'll be doing at the annual meeting and 2020 programs.

If you want the history of what we've done up to this point, please read the page here - https://rl4wd.com/community/nonprofitinfo We'd like to finish our 501 (c)3 filings in 2020 and this is an important topic for the annual meeting.

Ryan will also present his findings on going forward with legislative work and ways to do this as our group. We used 2019 to restructure as RL4WDA from Wrangler Riders and work on concepts of how the Universal Membership, Universal Trail Ratings, and related items are to work. We have enough data to talk about these items now and enough time tested to start making the decisions final based on a 2-year testing period. We have locations that need signage and it can't be done until we have everything in place.

I took 8 hours to edit the video recording and after 2 hours loading it to YouTube, it had no audio. So going old school here and loading the recording. There is some missing because the battery died, will bring the sound recorder next time. Tried loading this audio file to the audio section of the site but it's so massive that the site couldn't handle it... so going old school and just loading it right to the server. The 3 dots allow you to download the mp3 file so you can play it later on whatever app you use for your computer or smart phone.  https://rl4wd.com/Meetings/1.26.20%20meeting.mp3 Tammy Scovronski is going to try and write up the minutes based on this, sorry if the tech failed, just another reason to not have one person try and do it all.

    Thanks for taking a look!

Our bylaws state education and public safety. I must have grabbed the wrong revision when I posted that here because I had that fixed between the officers and directors. I'll try and spend countless more hours to get this done... If this turns into a whole crap ton of committees, countless delays, ridiculous turnovers of volunteers... This is exactly why people don't want to be part of stuff like this.

Clubs are folding left and right because they can't get volunteers, nobody will run the groomers, it's happening on the ATV side, snowmobile side, pretty much everywhere... blue ox up north just handed over their facilities to the county this week as they don't have enough volunteers anymore to groom the trails... maybe we step back at this meeting and analyze if this thing is even worth it. If the local clubs require exorbitant membership fees then you have the coalition fees then you have the State fee or registration fee it just gets ridiculous...

Im not sure how to deal with it but dues are what turns people off and yet dues are what funds the organizations needed to keep the trails open. In wisconsin we have an abundance of local and regional clubs but Im not sure how many are actually aligned with any state or national organizations. and then there are the independents who feel its their right to use any trail or trail system public or private for free just because they dont get it and are cheap. this has been an ongoing issue for over 25 years and I see no resolution but you have a very valid point its a shame to see a group falter because of inadequate funds and support but hey you cant hold people at gunpoint to get them to contribute either...
