Indianhead Mountain Resort located in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. RL4WD trails on-site and access to the public ORV trails network of Michigan and Unimproved Road (High Clearance Trail) Tours of Wisconsin.

The 4x4 trails on-site are designed as Slow Speed Trails. From ski slope and wooded mountain trails to public trails, this location is your one-stop-shop for adventure and fun! In the winter, enjoy some of the best skiing around!

The private 4x4 trails are open by guided RL4WD member tours only for right now. For the 2019 and 2020 season, we're working on building a very impressive trail network that can be enjoyed by RL4WD's, ATV, UTV, and Motorcycles. Stay tuned for some really great riding events!

Amazing location with lots of potential

I see this place as becoming a major recreation and tourism destination in the coming years. Their owner and managers are very dedicated to improving their location, making trails, hosting events, and more. After a bunch of meetings and months of planning, things are finally taking shape. IF we do more than one CrawlerFest a year, this is at the top of the list of places to host it. I've been helping riding locations get going my entire life and I've never seen a location that pretty much has it all. All the cabins, rooms, pool, food, it's all just waiting for us. Very cool to see how this is going to work out. We're all going to see some awesome things coming from these mountains in the coming seasons!

Big Snow Asked -
May I ask for you help? I'd like to do a quick, casual poll regarding food and beverage service as we begin the riding season (however that plays out in this "hopefully-outlier", crazy year...). If you'd like to share with other GW riders, all the better, but if not, OK too. Somewhere in all this, I'd love to hear the cost/benefit assessment---would most riders prefer "average-to-good" food at modest/reasonable pricing, or a "memorable/remarkable/unique" food service experience, even if expensive...? Is a "Denny's" breakfast for $9 preferable to a St. Paul Hotel gourmet breakfast at $18? Is a pub-fare dinner and pint at $20 preferable to a perfect steak and gourmet sides w/ a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon at $38-$48? Rough numbers, but you get the idea..

1. Breakfast (top criteria):
a. Healthy
b. Traditional
c. Interesting/unique/ethnic
d. Quick, easy, light, and on the road
e. Cost/Value

Please rank---use as many criteria as you wish. Then---some menu options, inviting your comments or ranking:

a. Straight-up traditional---eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, toast. Think Denny's. Served at table by waitstaff
b. Buffet----traditional items from above, plus fresh fruit, oatmeal, French toast/pancakes. Self-service.
c. Unique/gourmet/regional--- eggs benedict or basted/poached (free-range/organic) with pan-fried Lake Superior Whitefish,
locally-sourced Italian rustic grain bread (toast) w/ organic Michigan blueberry preserves.
Gourmet coffee (French press at table). Fresh-squeezed orange or grapefruit juice.
Local red/yellow baby new potatoes, pan-seared in olive oil and rosemary seasoning.
Optional: Gourmet stuffed French Toast with 100% natural Maple Syrup (Ontario)
Irish Steel-Cut Oatmeal, fresh organic cream, fresh berries (raspberry/blueberry/blackberry)

Box lunch for trailside/roadside lunch stop at the waterfall:

a. sandwich (let's say ham/turkey and cheese, for ex.), chips, pickle, cookie
b. gourmet sandwich (prime rib, onion, stone ground mustard, premium horseradish, on Sheboygan hard roll) garbanzo bean salad/couscous side dish, baked pear half with blue cheese and walnuts.
c. Caesar salad, meal-sized, with chicken or tenderloin.
d. Big Snow Resort staff grill-out on site, 60 miles from resort (rendezvous w/ riders at pre-determined location)---burgers or brats, potato salad, corn-on-cob.

Dinner (resort):

a. Pizza/salad/sandwiches/soup---pub fare to order, along w/ pint of beer or glass of wine.
b. Linen table cloth dining experience..full menu, appetizers, wine list, vegetarian and steak/fish entree options.
c. "Italian Community Dining"----spaghetti w/ gourmet meatballs/marinara, salad, Italian bread, Chianti, Spaghetti Carbonara, Fettucini w/ olive oil, garlic, parmesan, red peppers.....
d. Buffet of some kind.
e. Outdoor grilling options--steaks, corn on the cob, grilled vegetables, gourmet baked beans. Casual, outdoors.

Thanks, any input you can share would be of help. Sorry, this is somewhat free form--really just inviting your perspective on this.
