Slow Speed Trails Best Crawling Trails

​The Universal Trail Rating System has been a huge step forward in identifying types of trails people want to take. Now, we have identified a way to classify trails that incorporate many obstacles or rough trails that require folks to crawl. We've deemed this as a Slow Speed Trail or SST. 

So what defines a Slow Speed Trail? Having an entire trail that's full of crawling elements such as obstacles, hills, below ground planes, etc. where the average speed of travel would be under 5mph for the entire trail duration. At least, that's the idea.

​Can larger RL4WD's handle Slow Speed Trails? Yes! While they may not be able to make sharper turns like the smaller SUV's, must can be upgraded to do rock and log crawls like shown below.
