The Madison, WI 4X4 / Jeep / RL4WD area is filled with amazing trails, awesome people and great events!
Our goal is to open as many parks and trails as possible for SUV recreation in east central Wisconsin. Our team will be going out and working with land managers, clubs, DNR and politicians to properly represent our members. We're dedicated to working with all other motorized state associations and clubs to create a synergy of recreational and tourism activity for the state of Wisconsin.
The Oak Creek chapter of the Road Legal Four Wheel Drive Association has formed as of 1.10.21! They held their meeting at Willy's World.
This group is dedicated to our members who pass the course for the Trail Ambassador program.
Back in 2001 over the ATV side, we set out to try and do more than just trail patrol. You see, when a user group can manage and self-patrol the riding population, we can avoid tickets, avoid or report activity and expand riding areas. When land managers see that our group has the credentials and program to keep the trails safe and usable, we get a lot more places to ride.
We started with www.trailpatrol.com which will eventually be switched over entirely to www.trailambassador.com. Here, we can coordinate with all other Trail Ambassadors and come up with plans to address problem areas.
The Trail Ambassador program is being used by the Wisconsin ATV / UTV Association, Wisconsin Off-Highway Motorcycle Association and now Road Legal Four Wheel Drive. We also have program users in Maine and Minnesota with others looking to use it in Arizona and a few other states.
At the annual meeting in April, the Trail Ambassadors get awarded with thousands of dollars in product from our sponsors for those who logged the most miles, most hours and most reports, etc. This system has created thousands of miles of trails and gave recreations a far easier time opening trails and parks.
