I could not agree more! In the 40 years I have been trailering everything from car Jeeps to ATVs straight pulls on straps are more secure in limiting any motion of the vehicle forward or aft. Another debate item is some people will attach to bumpers or clevis anchor points while others use axle straps. The best is to attach your straps to the axles and let the vehicle suspension absorb movement. If you tie to the bumper or clevis points the straps not must load the suspension but if you hit a heavy bump the suspension can bounce and allow your straps lost enough and possible unhook. Always attach your straps to the axles not the bumpers or clevis points.
